Please check the online databases for information! You may be able to find the painting or literature online, or you may need additional resources. Please let me know if you need additional help! I can  help you do a search that will provide info on your artist/author/poet and help  you find  a (required) book resource.

For any kind of research, you should be first turning to one of our online research databases –

Please go to the post on this blog called “Do you know the password?” and enter the password that is on my Edline page (it’s on the front of Middle and Upper School pages), or just send me an email. Once you enter the password, you should get the listing of database logons.

ELIBRARY/PROQUEST

For a general database filled with journals, newspapers, audio/video and more, look to elibrary from Proquest. It features an user-friendly interface with excellent resources.

To access Elibrary/Proquest

Go to this website : http://elibrary.bigchalk.com

JSTOR

College students who write research papers will know what you are talking about when you say “Jstor” – the academic journal database. We can now access Jstor and its rich resources of academic journals.
To access Jstor:

Enter JSTOR via the Individual Access Logon page at: http://www.jstor.org/logon/

GALE POWERSEARCH

I have purchased digital versions of many of our print research resources so students can use these resources concurrently and at home. These reference books are cross-referenced with a database of journals and magazines that are included in a search. You can also browse the journals!

Podcasting in Education is part of the Web 2.0 or the interactive web — The concept of Podcastng began with iPods and the ability to record quickly. What begins as essentially a tape recording can become a powerful learning tool. Using GarageBand in an Apple computer or Audacity in a PC as the sound editing program, students and teachers can create podcasts to share locally or on the Internet.

Here are some links for Teacher Resources:
